What is an IDC?

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]IDC stands for indwelling urinary catheter, which is more commonly known as urine tube. IDC is used for patients with urinary incontinence (leakage), or urinary retention (unable to urinate), or trauma/injury that affects one’s control over urination.

The urinary catheter is a hollow, flexible tube that is inserted via the urethra into the bladder to drain out urine. A small balloon is also inflated in the bladder to keep the catheter in place. The other end of the catheter tube leads to a urine bag that is meant to collect the urine.

Our experienced, certified, and trained nurses will be deployed in the shortest time possible to change an IDC at home with the utmost care and professionalism.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ el_class=”feature-image col-sm-pull-6″][vc_single_image image=”2088″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” css=”.vc_custom_1521002331325{padding-bottom: 40px !important;background-color: #ffece7 !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1521002293014{padding-bottom: 20px !important;}”]

How can we help you?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

  • Regular change of the IDC (between 1-3 months, depending on the tube manufacturer)
  • The IDC may be blocked due to residue in the urine
  • The IDC may dislodge
  • Initial insertion
Note: we require a doctor’s memo to state that the patient is fit and safe for an initial IDC insertion at home
  • Training of family or helper on daily use and hygiene of the IDC
