What is an NGT?

NGT stands for Nasogastric Tube, which is more commonly known as feeding tube. NGT is used to feed patients with dysphagia (difficulties in swallowing). Dysphagia could arise due to neurological, muscular or congenital conditions and even cancer.

What can be fed through NGT?

  • Milk feeds, water, juices, barley water – pretty much anything liquid
  • Blended/pureed food (not advisable as they tend to block the tube)
  • Medication that are crushed into powder form

Our experienced, certified, and trained nurses will be deployed in the shortest time possible to carry out the NGT insertion with the utmost care and professionalism.

How can we help you?

  • Regular change of the NGT (between 1-2 months, depending on the tube manufacturer)
  • The NGT may be blocked due to residue in the feed
  • The NGT may be pulled out by the Patient
  • Initial insertion
Note: we require a doctor’s memo to state that the patient is fit and safe for an initial NGT insertion at home
  • Training of family or helper on how to conduct the feed safely

"It is a service I highly recommend to others"

“All we wanted was for the best medical attention for our mother, and her complete recovery. The most important factor in decision-making for us was the experience of nurses to handle the illnesses of the patient and their age. The nurses at Jaga-Me are kind and caring. It is a service I highly recommend to others in the same situation”
