Covid-19 Circuit Breaker Update

6th April 2020

Dear Valued Clients,

Enhanced Measures to Reduce Local Transmission of COVID

Following the announcement from government yesterday, there will be an elevated set of safe distancing measures to be implemented across all industries, as a circuit breaker to pre-emptthe trend of increasing local transmission of COVID-19. These heightened safe distancing measures will be in place for four weeks (i.e. two incubation cycles) from 7 April 2020 until 4 May 2020 (inclusive).

Continued Provision of Essential Services

We have heard many concerns enquiring if Jaga-Me operations will cease due to the new announcement. We would like to take this opportunity to allay some of these concerns.

Jaga-Me is formally approved by the Singapore Government (Ministry of Trade and Industry) as an essential service provider.

As a home healthcare service provider, Jaga-Me renders medical and nursing care that are considered as essential services. Essential services/ procedures refer to those, if not provided or performed, would result in significant or rapid deterioration of the patient’s medical condition, and potentially threatening their health and well-being. Essential services also include operations to control the outbreak.

Essential Services:

  • Respite care for patients with minimal or no caregiver support
  • Wound Dressing
  • NGT Insertion
  • Urinary Catheterisation
  • IV Antibiotic Therapy
  • IV TPN Administration
  • SC Meds Administration
  • IM Meds Administration
  • Screening of infectious diseases
  • Home Medical
  • Palliative Respite

Non-essential Services:

  • Medical escort
  • Home rehabilitation for maintenance

As our colleagues in the healthcare institution, the last line of defence, gear up to increase their capacity to potentially handle more patient load in the coming days, Jaga-Me will continue to do our part in the provision of care for the community. We have the critical task in ensuring that patients still get the care they need and avoiding unnecessary hospitalisation.

JagaPros To Don On Mask Before and After Home Visit

Jaga-Me will be providing our JagaPros with surgical masks to ensure patient’s safety and reduce the risk of droplet transmission. JagaPros are also advised to wear a mask while commuting to patient’s residence, during and after care.

Patient’s Safety

To ensure patient’s and caregiver’s safety, only JagaPros who have cleared the following will be allowed to assist patient:

  • Have not exhibited symptoms such as fever, sore throat, runny nose, coughing, breathless or loss of sense of taste/smell in the last 14 days
