Who is recommended for this health screening?
  1. – Age > 40
  2. – Family history of hereditary or chronic diseases
  3. – Sedentary lifestyle
  4. – BMI above acceptable level (overweight or obese)
  5. – No previously diagnosed chronic medical conditions
Who is not recommended for this health screening?
  1. – Has existing chronic medical conditions and/or taking medications for them
  2. – Recently had HbA1c/lipid profile blood test performed in the last 3 years
  3. – Immunocompromised/acutely ill patients (includes patients who have chronic kidney disease, anaemia, cancer, severe infections, uraemia, alcoholism)
  4. – Pregnancy (HbA1c levels can decrease during 2nd trimester and increase during 3rd trimester; changes are mild but can affect the assessment of potential gestational diabetes)
  5. – Paediatric population such as adolescents and teenagers
  6. – Has no capacity for informed consent to blood-taking (e.g. due to cognitive impairment)
Do I need to fast before taking the blood test?

No, you would not need to fast before the blood test at home.

Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?

If you would like to reschedule and/or cancel appointments, please do so at least 7 days before the appointment. Rescheduling or cancellations less than 24 hours before the appointment will forfeit the entire fee. Failure to be present at home during scheduled appointments will also result in forfeiture.

Reschedule

If you wish to reschedule your appointment, please reschedule at least a minimum of seven (7) days prior to your scheduled appointment date. Rescheduling less than seven (7) calendar days prior to but more than 24 hours before your appointment date, will incur an additional transport fee to be paid before the next appointment date can be scheduled.

Cancellation

If you wish to cancel your appointment, please perform the cancellation at least a minimum of 7 days prior to your appointment, a full refund will be issued to the same credit card used for booking the appointment. The refund takes 10-14 business days.

If you cancel less than 7 days prior to but more than 24 hours before your scheduled date appointment, you will receive a refund minus an administration fee of 25% of the entire fee.

Important: All cancellation or amendments will be tended to during operating hours only. Cancellations that take place outside operating hours will not fall under the cancellation notice/subjected to Jaga-Me’s discretion.

What should I know about diabetes?
  1. – Non-fasting blood test (HbA1c) will be performed for your convenience. This blood test reflects your average blood sugar level for the past 2-3 months.
  2. – Screening should be done once every 3 years.
What should I do before my diabetes screening?
  1. – If you become unwell before the appointed date of your blood-taking, please inform us to check if you can still proceed with the blood test.
  2. – As this blood test is non-fasting, there is no need to avoid food or water before the blood test.
What are the acceptable levels for HbA1c?

The acceptable levels for HbA1c are < 6%.

What should I do after my diabetes screening?

After screening:

  1. – If your results are normal, continue to have regular exercise and maintain a healthy diet. Go for screening of Diabetes Mellitus once every 3 years.
  2. – If your results are abnormal, our doctor will provide a consultation on how to improve your health.
What should I know about hyperlipidaemia?
  1. – Non-fasting blood tests for high blood cholesterol will be performed for your convenience.
  2. – Screening should be done once every 3 years.
What should I do before my hyperlipidaemia screening?
  1. – If you become unwell before the appointed date of your blood-taking, please inform us to check if you can still proceed with the blood test.
  2. – As this blood test is non-fasting, there is no need to avoid food or water before the blood test.
What are the acceptable levels for cholesterol blood tests?
  1. Total cholesterol <200mg/dL
  2. HDL cholesterol >59mg/dL
  3. Cholesterol:HDL ratio <4.6
  4. Triglycerides <150mg/dL
  5. Direct LDL cholesterol <100mg/dL
What should I do after my hyperlipidaemia screening?
    After screening:
  1. – If your results are normal, continue to have regular exercise and maintain a healthy diet. Go for a blood cholesterol screening test once every 3 years.
