What is Phlebotomy?

Phlebotomy is the process of making a puncture in a vein (also known as “venepuncture”) in order to draw a blood specimen, which is then sent to a lab for the blood test results to be generated.

What is required for Home Phlebotomy?

  • Needle
  • Syringe
  • Tourniquet
  • Blood tubes or Vacutainer
  • Alcohol swabs and cotton balls or plasters
  • A medical professional competent in phlebotomy

What are some Common Blood Tests?

There are a number of Blood Tests that can be ordered by a medical doctor (licensed by the Singapore Medical Council) in conjunction with the home phlebotomy, these include:

  • Full blood count
  • Renal function (levels of urea, creatinine, sodium, potassium, etc)
  • Lipid profile (cholesterol level)
  • Diabetic panel (glucose and HbA1c)

These investigations allow a medical doctor to assess a patient’s condition more comprehensively, in order to help diagnose a condition, or prescribe a plan of care. Such medical advice can be provided through a house call visit or a tele-consultation.

In support of our medical doctors, Jaga-Me’s experienced, certified, and trained nurses will be deployed in the shortest time possible to provide Home Phlebotomy with the utmost care and professionalism.

"It is a service I highly recommend to others"

“All we wanted was for the best medical attention for our mother, and her complete recovery. The most important factor in decision-making for us was the experience of nurses to handle the illnesses of the patient and their age. The nurses at Jaga-Me are kind and caring. It is a service I highly recommend to others in the same situation”
